Goodrich to
be Uhhh...
BF Goodrich doesn't want to be BF Goodrich
anymore, says a recent wire report. Seeing as the company doesn't
make tires anymore, and hasn't for 15 years, that's probably a good
idea. But word of the planned name change has gotten out ahead of
word of the new name, which isn't expected to be publicized until
a proxy statement is submitted to the SEC, probably next month.
Shareholders will then vote on a new handle for the firm at its
annual meeting in April. Aerospace accounted for just 7% of Goodrich
revenue in 1985 and now accounts for 84%.
