Meggitt Works Its MAGIC on Bell 427

Helicopter Air Service (Booth 593) is making avionics history by becoming the first to install a complete suite of Meggitt Avionics (Booth 1519) MAGIC large-format, flat-panel displays and solid-state ADAHRS in a Bell 427. On display at Booth 183 at the west end of Hall D, the aircraft features left- and right-side Primary Flight Displays, a right-side Navigation Display, a BFGoodrich GH3000 flat-panel, solid-state standby instrument system, SFIM three-axis autopilot and flat-panel engine instrument system.

HAS says the two-screen, VFR configuration system adds only 15 pounds of weight. VFR certification is slated for May 2001. IFR certification will follow.
