Collins Pro Line Wins on Eurocopter

Collins avionics will be standard on EC 155s.

Eurocopter has selected Rockwell Collins to provide a package of communication and navigation avionics as standard equipment on all EC 155, military Dauphin and Super Puma helicopters, it was announced here at Heli-Expo.

"This is quite a coup for us," Collins marketing director for business and regional systems, Bryan Vester, told Show News.

Eurocopter and Collins also agreed to evaluate further inroads into what has traditionally been territory claimed by French avionics manufacturer Sextant (now Thales).

Collins will provide a Pro Line CNS package including dual VHF communications and VOR/ILS as well as automatic direction finder, distance measuring equipment, and transponder.
