Turbomeca Moves to Reduce Ownership Costs

In a bold move that shows strong confidence in its technological abilities, Turbomeca is passing along to current customers the savings it expects to achieve over the next year in certain Arriel 1 engine components.

It is reducing by 25% the price of high energy generator and igniter units, bleed valves and tacho boxes for the whole of this year while it undertakes a product improvement program. "Why should the customer wait to realize these improvements?" asked Didier Desnoyer, vice president for operator support.

Turbomeca is also working on a guaranteed price cap for overhauls "so the operator knows the cost and has no surprises," he told Show News.

The company is progressing with its worldwide customer support goal of one Turbomeca-owned repair shop on every continent, and will this year open a facility in Brazil, Desnoyer said. An example of the synergy with Snecma, it is being built on land already owned by the parent, he added.
