Optimistic: Dallas Airmotive
president George Derby. |
Dallas Airmotive Grows
Heli-Engine Businesses
Dallas Airmotive, the world's largest independent
provider of repair and overhaul services for Rolls-Royce 250 and
Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6T Twin-Pac engines, is here at Heli-Expo
(Booth 1945) to tell about the advantages of financial size.
Backed by the resources of British parent BBA
Group (which also owns the Signature chain of FBOs), Dallas Airmotive
has significantly grown its helicopter engine business in the last
year.
"We've created a helicopter engine center
of excellence in Dallas, moved boldly ahead with our PT6T program,
and invested in additional R-R 250 inventory, engines and exchange
components," Dallas Airmotive president George Derby told Show
News. These investments have helped ameliorate serious delays to
R-R 250 engine overhauls caused by a shortage of gears, bearings
and shafts from Rolls-Royce, he said. "We will be talking to
them at the show about that, and the most efficient and effective
way to use precious parts to keep customers flying," he added.

Other developments have included the addition
of helicopter intermediate overhaul and component services at Dallas
Airmotive regional shops, Derby noted.
