Heavycopter Seeks to Hoist Heavy Lift Contracts in U.S.

Lake dried up? No problem. Heavycopter can help your business relocate and move family and friends, a whole village at a time, as in Siberia (above).

The giant Russian Mi-26T helicopter-which can hoist 20 tonnes and last year lifted no fewer than 226 sport parachutists in a single flight-is coming to the U.S!

At least, it will if it finds a customer for outsize loads or firefighting.

Making its debut at Heli-Expo is Heavycopter Inc., (Booth 2209), which was incorporated in New York last March to drum up business in the U.S. and with the United Nations for the world's heaviest-lifting helicopter.

Heavycopter, which owns three Mi-26s, is a sister company of Nutshell, which has operated the Mi-26T for several years in all corners of the world, having won contracts in Germany, Siberia and East Timor.

Heavycopter provides crews, maintenance and support for its Mi-26T helicopters. The closest Mi-26s have so far come to the U.S. is Mexico, where the government operates two aircraft.
