Fairchild Dornier's First Corporate 328JET Is on Show Here

Tyrolean Jet Services' corporate Fairchild Dornier 328JET arrives here at EBACE.

The first Fairchild Dornier 328JET in true corporate configuration arrived here at EBACE on Tuesday and is on display in the static aircraft park.

The aircraft is one of two 328JETs operated by Tyrolean Jet Services of Innsbruck, Austria. The aircraft here is outfitted with 14 seats, but the company's other aircraft is used for charter as a 29-seater.

Tyrolean Jet Services' corporate 328JET was outfitted by the Fairchild Dornier factory at Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany, in just two months, for a fly-away, plane-plus-interior completed price of $13.5 million.

Senior sales and engineering executive Heinrich Grund explained there are three business versions of the 328JET: corporate, shuttle and executive. A total of 14 business 328JETs have been delivered in those three roles-fully 20% of total production of 62 to date). Fairchild Dornier expects to deliver another five business aircraft this year.

The 32-passenger Fairchild Dornier 328JET entered airline service in August 1999. The 328JET has a range of 900 miles. It features Honeywell Primus Epic avionics, and is powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW306B turbofans. The company is exhibiting here in Booth 7489.

Tyrolean Jet Services has been operating corporate aircraft since October last year. In addition to the two 328JETs it regularly flies a Citation VII and a Falcon 900.
