NetJets Fleets to Get Honeywell Enhanced GPWS

Business travelers should be comforted to know that Executive Jet, Inc. has selected Honeywell's Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System for installation on its NetJets fractional ownership fleets of Raytheon Hawker 1000 and Cessna Citation Ultra, VII and X business aircraft.

The GPWS installation will let the firm comply with FAA's 2005 TAWS mandate for turbine aircraft with six or more passenger seats.
TAWS is a technology that uses a high-fidelity terrain database to "look ahead" of the aircraft's flight path for risk of controlled flight into terrain. Long distance warnings are displayed on a moving map on the aircraft's EFIS or radar indicator. Aural warnings and annunciators provide the crew with short-term warnings.

Some of NetJets' fleets already are equipped with GPWS, and these also will be upgraded with EGPWS. NetJets' newer aircraft have factory-installed TAWS boxes.
