New Falcon Stays Under Wraps

All in the family: the Dassaults visited EBACE en masse. Serge Dassault is flanked by his sones Olivier (left) and Laurent.

You must wait until the Paris Air Show at Le Bourget in June to see the next addition to the Falcon family.

"All will be revealed there, with full details and a mockup," Dassault Aviation evp Bruno Revellin-Falcoz told a press meeting at EBACE yesterday.

He declined to give any details of the "Project FNX," which is widely believed to feature a Falcon 900 fuselage stretched by some six feet, a new wing, and three 6,000-7,000 lbs thrust engines.

Revellin-Falcoz did confirm, however, that Dassault is still working quietly on the concept of a supersonic business jet, although he does not believe there are yet any suitable engines. And it will be best tackled in partnership, he added.
