Bombardier Opens Training Center
at DFW
Bombardier Aerospace last week inaugurated a new state-of-the-art
pilot and maintenance training center at the Dallas-Fort Worth
International Airport in Texas. The 81,800-square-foot, four-story
facility provides classroom and simulator training for Learjet
31A, 45 and 60 operators. This is the first time that Learjet
training has been available directly from the aircraft's manufacturer.
In 2002 Bombardier will offer training for the Challenger 604
and Continental at DFW.
The Dallas training center is currently equipped with four Level
D full-flight simulators for the Learjet 31A, two for the Model
45, and one for the Model 60, one Level 5 fixed-base training
device for the LJ60, plus two flight management system training
devices per model. It is approved to train to FAA Parts 61, 91
and 135 standards, and is a designated type rating training organization
under European JAR-OPS 1 regulations.
The center will employ up to 70 people. It has a peak annual throughput
of some 3,600 pilots and 400 maintenance technicians. |
