2000 a Record Year for International Gulfstream Sales

Gulfstream Aerospace posted a record year for international sales in 2000, recording sales of more than 20 aircraft to non-U.S. customers. International sales were strong for the two current models, GIV-SP and GV, and for the forthcoming GV-SP, and remain buoyant into 2001, according to Joe Walker, Gulfstream's senior worldwide sales VP.

Last year Gulfstream more than doubled the number of demonstration flights it made with the GIV-SP and GV-both of which are on static display here at EBACE-reflecting growing international demand for the long-range aircraft.
Gulfstream recently increased and reorganized its international sales force, naming Tarek Ragheb as divisional VP for Europe, Mid-East and Africa, and Jason Akovenko as regional VP for Asia/Pacific, operating out of the company's Singapore office. An additional salesperson will soon be appointed in Europe.

"Gulfstream is building market share in key regions around the world. We have the right products for our international customers, and it's being reflected in consistently strong aircraft sales," Walker said.
