Thales IESI for Embraers

Thales Avionics is talking up Embraer's choice of its Integrated Electronic Standby Instrument for the ERJ 170/190 series of regional jets. IESI combines the standby instrument functions of aircraft attitude (gyro horizon), airspeed and altitude in a single instrument with an in-house active matrix liquid crystal display. It is said to save weight and space and to offer increased reliability. It was previously chosen for Embraer's 135/145 aircraft, and for the new Legacy business jet.
