Galaxy's $750,000 Giveaway

Galaxy Aerospace is promoting a new free maintenance program it says could be worth as much as $750,000 to buyers of eligible jets.
"It gives them the opportunity to move up to a more comfortable, more capable aircraft at what is likely to be a lower overall operating cost," said Galaxy president and CEO Brian Barents.

The Galaxy No Charge Maintenance Program, said to be unprecedented in the industry, provides new Galaxy jet buyers five years or 2,500 hours of free maintenance, whichever comes first.

It's available on "selected aircraft," the company says, and covers such high-wear items as tires and brakes. The Galaxy's Honeywell APUs and the Galaxy's PW306A engines are covered by separate fixed-hourly-fee plans from their respective manufacturers, the airframer says.

After the No Charge program expires, Galaxy owners may shift to the manufacturer's new StarParts program. "We are not the first business aviation company to provide such a program," said Barents, " but ours will ensure that the Galaxy remains one of the most economical aircraft to operate as it matures."
Galaxy has just delivered aircraft number 019 and says it expects to deliver three per month for the remainder of the year.
