First Falcon 2000EX Takes Shape;
Plays a Role in Longer Range Plan

Work progresses on the first Falcon 2000EX, due to enter service in 2003.

Taking shape at Bordeaux is Dassault's head-on challenge to Bombardier's Challenger 604-the $24 million, 3,800 nmi Falcon 2000EX. Powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW308C engines (the first time Pratt has displaced Honeywell/AlliedSignal on a Falcon), the long-range 2000EX will offer virtually the same range and six-passenger, tanks-full payload as the $28 million Falcon 900C tri-jet, albeit with a 6.6-foot shorter cabin. The Pratt engines provide 18% more takeoff thrust compared to the Falcon 2000's CFE738 turbofans. Price is just 10% above the Falcon 2000.
