New Asian Aerospace Site for 2004

Asian Aerospace 2000 -- This year's Asian Aerospace exhibition on the Changi site, the tenth, will be followed by only one more before the move to a wholly new site, show director Jimmy Lau said here yesterday.

Drainage and reclamation work on the new site is already 90% complete and will be finished within six months. Then the reclaimed area, at Changi East, will have to dry out, settle and be consolidated for a year before construction work can begin in 2002 for completion and inauguration of Asian Aerospace 2004.

The new site will be 50% larger than the present showgrounds and will offer better accessibility and, of course, more space for exhibitors, caterers, other support services and parking, said Lau.

He made the point that this year's 950 exhibitors included 120 new to the show, including a number of e-commerce businesses who have chosen Asian Aerospace 2000 as their launch platform.
