South Korean Maritime Police Buy Special Mission Challenger

Asian Aerospace 2000 -- A new application for Bombardier's Challenger 604 twin-turbofan business jet has resulted from its procurement by South Korea's National Maritime Police Agency for sea patrol roles. Its primary sensor is an Elta EL/M-2022 advanced multi-mode maritime surveillance radar, to be installed with other special mission systems, by Germany's Aerodata.

The EL/M-2022 is claimed by Elta to be one of the most advanced radars of its kind. It has also been supplied to the Royal Australian air force for its upgraded Lockheed AP-3C Orion maritime patrol aircraft.
