| Korean Helicopters to Gain Elbit Night Vision Capability Asian Aerospace 2000 -- Israel's Elbit Systems has disclosed receipt of a South Korean military contract covering Aviator's Night Vision Head-Up Display (ANVIS/HUD) night vision systems for army and air force helicopters. The initial contract, worth $6 million, covers an undisclosed number of systems for Bell AH-1 Cobra, Boeing CH-47 Chinook, and Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk types. An option is held on a further 200 systems. ANVIS/HUD provides pilots with critical flight data during night operations and enhances their night visibility. Over 3,000 similar systems have been supplied to aviation arms of the Australian Army, Israel Defense Force, US Army and US Marine Corps.
