Engines for RAAF and USAF

Asian Aerospace 2000 -- Two new contracts were disclosed yesterday by Standard Aero of Winnipeg, Canada, for depot-level maintenance of Rolls-Royce AE2100 turboprop engines installed on C-130J Hercules of the Royal Australian Air Force and US Air Force. Placed by airframe manufacturer Lockheed Martin and worth a combined $45 million, the contracts extend to October 2002. USAF work will be undertaken at Winnipeg, but the Australian commitment will be assigned to a new plant to be opened later this year in Sydney. Standard Aero also services Pratt & Whitney Canada, Honeywell and General Electric engines.
