Dominican Republic Signs for Two CASA Transports; Third May Follow

Spain's CASA, which is soon to be incorporated in the pan-European EADS aerospace company, has just announced an order for a pair of C-212 Series 400s, placed in November by the Dominican Republic. An option on a third remains open until the end of March. The 'glass cockpit' Series 400 is the latest variant of the twin-turboprop previously marketed as the Aviocar and built both in Spain and Indonesia. Those for the Dominican Republic will have provision for medical evacuation and personnel transport in addition to the usual fittings for freighting, troop transport and parachuting.
