Germany Commissions World's
Most Advanced Radar Control Center
DaimlerChrysler Aerospace has completed and handed over a new control and reporting center (CRC) at Schonwalde, south of Berlin, giving Germany the most capable CRC of the 60 within the NATO European theater. After final fitting-out, the center will be commissioned by the Luftwaffe in the second quarter of the year, when its capabilities will include the display of almost every airborne moving object between Lithuania and Italy. Germany plans to upgrade its other seven CRCs and obtain two more new installations. It already has a mobile CRC which can be used for short-notice deployments,
