| EADS in Asia Singapore -- Successful partnership strategies in Asia of Dasa, Aerospatiale Matra and Casa will be continued by the new EADS (European Aeronautic, Defence and Space Systems), according to joint CEO-elect Rainer Hertrich. Asian partners will now have the chance to leverage their partnerships with EADS-member companies into one of the world's top three defense and aerospace companies, he told Show News. EADS intends to expand its activities in Asia, he said. The new European giant already has a good starting point in the position won by Dasa, which is poised through its Airbus, Eurocopter and MTU activities to achieve the long term objective of parent DaimlerChrysler to generate 25% of its revenues in Asia. "Today Asia is already a region to which Dasa not only wishes to sell, but with which it also wishes to cooperate," Hertrich said. "Dasa has already found a number of strong partners in Asia: Singapore Technologies, the Hong Kong businessman Richard Li, IPTN in Indonesia, the Chinese Aerospace Corporation (CASC), the China Aero Technology Import & Export Corporation (CATIC) and Kawasaki Heavy Industries and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Japan." EADS will be even more international as a whole than its founding companies, Hertrich said.
