Canadian Marconi Metamorphoses as BAE Systems Canada
Following the November 30 merger of the former British Aerospace (BAe) with Marconi Electronic Systems, a formal change of name was approved earlier this month by the shareholders of the company's Canadian element. Reflecting the dual languages of its home country, the re-named firm is now known as BAE Systems Canada/Systemes BAE Canada. Principal activities are in the area of high-technology electronics for the aerospace and communications markets. The General Electric Company Plc (of the UK) retains the famous Marconi tradename.
