| Sextant Displays Topsight E (HMSD) Singapore -- Sextant is conducting a live display of its Topsight E helmet-mounted sight/display (HMS/D) at the show, on board the Dassault Rafale. Topsight E completed French Air Force testing early last year on a Mirage 2000. Topsight E is a modular system with a display module attached to a specially designed helmet. Customers need buy only one helmet per pilot and one display module per aircraft. The display can be replaced by a night vision module or a conventional visor. Topsight E allows the pilot to perform visual target designation, allowing for high, off-boresight engagements with modern air-to-air missiles. The display can also be used to cue the pilot to targets at extreme visual range which have been detected by the aircraft's sensors or by another aircraft (if a datalink is in use). The helmet provides normal physiological protection. It's been successfully tested in simulated ejections at up to 625 kt. Sextant has also been awarded a contract by the French MoD to provide 160 Topowl binocular helmet-mounted sight/displays for the Tiger attack helicopter. Topowl provides day-night imagery from any of a number of sources, including integrated night vision devices, infrared or synthetic symbology. According to Sextant, Topowl is the only binocular HMS/D to have received a production contract. It has also been selected for South Africa's Rooivalk attack helicopter and the European NH90 program.
