Day 2

Smiths ISIS Selected for Learjets

Bombardier selected the integrated standby instrument system (ISIS) developed by Smiths Industries as basic fit for Learjet Models 31A, 45 and 60. Deliveries will begin in December, and Smiths estimates that 100 aircraft per year will be delivered when in full production.

ISIS is a complete standby system in a single, LCD instrument. It was developed to replace electromechanical instruments, and is based on a 3ATI system that displays altitude, attitude and airspeed.

In other news, Smiths is providing two primary instruments and one standby display for the Citation CJ1 and CJ2.

Using active matrix LCD technology, the 3ATI instruments are the horizontal situation indicator, attitude indicator and the standby altimeter/airspeed indicator. The contract principally involves two horizontal situation indicators and one attitude indicator, but can vary according to aircraft configuration.
