Dowty L.A. for Nordam Reversers

Dowty Aerospace Los Angeles has a preferred supplier contract worth some $5 million to design and manufacture the actuation system for Tulsa-based Nordam's new advanced single pivot thrust reverser for business jets.

"This is an enhancement to Nordam's current reverser," Dowty says. Dowty L.A. will supply a package comprising a directional and isolation control valves, two main and two secondary lock actuators. First deliveries are slated for next year.

Dowty notes that it is also a preferred supplier of thrust reverser actuation systems to Hurel-Dubois, and that its technology has allowed it penetrate the business jet hush kit market as well, as it supplies actuators for the engines on Gulfstream II and Gulfstream III aircraft.

Other business aircraft using Dowty thrust reverser actuators include the Bombardier Global Express and Continental, and the Gulfstream V.
