Flight trials recently started at Boeing's Mesa, Arizona facility of Thomson-CSF Comsys' TRA 6021 Saturn new 8.33kHz channel-spaced radio in the UK's Boeing/GKN Westland WAH-64 attack helicopter. Employing the latest ECCM and fast frequency-hopping techniques, the new radios are based on Saturn technology to guarantee full NATO interoperability. The contract signed last year with GKN Westland Helicopters involves delivery of 150 TRA 6021 radios for the UK Army Air Corps' 67 WAH-64 Longbow Apache helicopters.
