Not entirely unexpected is confirmation at the show that Rockwell Collins' Pro Line 4 avionics suite has been chosen for the just-launched Bombardier CRJ900 regional airliner. Consequently, the new 90-seater will have commonality with CRJ200s and the new CRJ700.

More than 1,000 systems have already been delivered. Those for the CRJ900 will begin arriving at the production line next January and enter service immediately after the -900 is certified in the third quarter of 2002. One option available on Pro Line 4 is Head Up Guidance, giving enhanced situational awareness in low-visibility operations sufficient for Cat IIIa landings.
