TRW-Lucas Signs Bristol's Brymon Airways for Flight Hour Maintenance

TRW Aeronautical Systems (Lucas Aerospace) has added Brymon Airways to its list of maintenance, repair and overhaul customers, signing the Bristol-based carrier to a six-year contract. Billing is to be on a cost per flight hour basis. The contract covers Brymon's initial order of Embraer 145 regional jets entering service this year and next, aircraft for which TRW-Lucas supplies systems for thrust reverser actuation, electrical power FADEC and fuel pumping, among others-and now will maintain them as well. The scheme will "drive up dispatch reliability while allowing the customer to preserve capital and improve cash flow," said TRW-Lucas equipment services director David Ashton. "We are now providing these services to seven different airlines and anticipate that more airlines will want to move in this direction," he said.
