The California Highway Patrol has ordered a fleet of 14 Cessna T206 Turbo Stationairs to standardize its single-engine aircraft fleet and replace aging C-180s and C-185s. The aircraft are used for traffic control, search and rescue, disaster relief and surveillance mission in urban, rural and mountainous settings. They will be powered by 310-hp Textron Lycoming TIO-540 piston engines. Other government agencies operating the 206 include the Kansas Highway Patrol and Uruguayan Air Force.
