Best of the Bigs

Bombardier, Inc. was named the "Best Managed Large Aerospace Company" in Aviation Week & Space Technology magazine's annual "Best Managed Companies" review. Only six companies receive AW&ST's "Best Managed" honor each year, based on their respective business categories. Bombardier achieved the honor after a record-breaking year in which its revenues increased 18% and it achieved a shareholder return on over 30%.

Aviation Week uses its exclusive "Competitiveness Index," developed by the magazine's editors in conjunction with Standard & Poors Compustat and PriceWaterhouseCoopers. It evaluates and ranks aerospace companies on a series of performance measures, including asset utilization, productivity and financial health.

Top executives from all six companies, including Robert E. Brown, president and CEO of Bombardier, will speak at a roundtable discussion on Tuesday morning at the Media Center. Other companies represented on the dais include Sky West Airlines, SAirGroup, Ryanair, Umeco and Howmet.

Keynote speaker is Hasso Plattner, co-founder and CEO of SAP.
