| Engine Sales Worth $176.7 Over Next Ten Years Turbofan and turbojet engines worth $176.7 billion will be sold over the next ten years, according to a new survey by Forecast International/DMS. In all, 46,000 engines will be produced worldwide, says the specialist market intelligence company. Most of the growth will be in smaller engines, which will account for 39% of the market in dollars and units. Forecast International sees a struggle for leadership between General Electric-currently ahead due to CF34 sales-Rolls-Royce and Pratt & Whitney/P&W Canada. Meanwhile, large engines for wide-body aircraft will account for 35% of the market by value, while the growth in narrow-body powerplants will peak as airlines finish replacing their fleets.
