Hamilton Sundstrand Sees Growth in Its Support Network

After opening a joint venture repair facility in China earlier this year, Hamilton Sundstrand is planning to begin operations later this year at its European Pneumatic Component Overhaul and Repair (EPCOR) facility at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport.
EPCOR is a joint venture with KLM Engineering & Maintenance. The facility will handle repair and overhaul of pneumatic components of large commercial aircraft, including environmental control systems.

"This expansion of our world-wide customer support presence enables us to be even more responsive in terms of turnaround time, service and value," said Hamilton Sundstrand customer service VP Jim Peterson.

The European operation follows the opening in February of a repair facility for aircraft electric power systems in Xiamen, China. Shaanxi Qinling Aeroelectric is the partner in that joint venture. The facility will service Hamilton Sundstrand electric power systems on Boeing and Airbus aircraft operated in China.

Similarly, the company opened a new facility for its joint venture with Singapore Airline Engineering Company. Located at Changi Airport, it will repair and overhaul aircraft engine fuel and electronic components throughout the Asia/Pacific region.
Hamilton Sundstrand is using Farnborough 2000 to showcase its extensive European business units. One of the newest members is HS Marston Aerospace, based in Wolverhampton, UK. In conjunction with BAE Systems and Normalair Garrett, Marston has developed a modified heat exchanger for the Hawk Mk 127 trainer's onboard oxygen generation system.
