Lockheed Martin is expanding its international by pursuing a NATO missile program.

A new integrated product team will be one of more than 250 international partnerships the company has established in more than 30 countries. The company is making the Farnborough International 2000 event a focal point for expanding international partnership concerning advanced technology.

International projects have become increasingly important to Lockheed Martin, which derives about 23% of its total sales from such ventures.

The NATO project will be handled by Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control facilities in Orlando, Florida and Dallas, Texas.
Later this week, the company will also update its efforts as part of MEADS International, the joint venture to develop a mobile, 360-degree, short-range air-defense system. The program is run in conjunction with Alenia and the German-arm of the European Aeronautic Defence and Space company under a tri-national agreement between the U.S., Germany, and Italy.
