Dunlop Cleaning Up Aloft

Separating oil from air in the extremely hot and high pressure environment of a working turbofan is a pretty demanding task, which Dunlop's Aero Equipment division has tackled with what it says is a "unique" range of patented separators displayed on stand H9 Hall 4. The Retimet separators are fitted to rotating shafts and make what the company says is a "massive contribution" to the environmental performance of modern turbines. They remove the oil from air/oil mixtures and return it to the reservoir for re-use, thus ensuring the ensuring the exhaust air is free of contamination.

The separators are displayed in a range of products designed to meet niche requirements of aero engine makers, particularly in the fields of heat transfer and high-pressure bleed air handling.
