Georgia Declares Its New National ATC System to be Up and Running

The new Georgia (formerly the Republic of Georgia) air traffic control system, equipped and installed by Northrop Grumman, has received a Certificate of Final Acceptance from Sakaeronavigatsia-Georgia's ATC regulatory body. The Georgian system is built around the Northrop Grumman solid-state ASR-12 airport surveillance radar, co-mounted with a monopulse secondary radar (MSSR), at Tbilisi Airport, and a second stand-alone MSSR at Senaki. The Georgia ATC Center at Tbilisi is equipped with Northrop Grumman's AMS 2000 airspace management system, ATC displays and communications.
