Tecstar Has Connexion-Compatible Server, Starts PMAT 2000 Deliveries

Tecstar-Demo Systems has developed an on-aircraft network server to host maintenance, crew and cabin applications as well as in-flight entertainment systems. The system can facilitate Internet browsing, Connexion by Boeing, e-mail and credit card validations. Honeywell has placed an initial order for 50 production units, with deliveries to start in September. Moorpark, California-based Tecstar has meanwhile begun deliveries of the PMAT 2000 Portable Access Terminal. The PMAT 2000 expands on the original PMAT developed for the Boeing 777 transport. It targets operators of regional jets, heavy transport types other than the 777, and can be used with FADEC-equipped engines.
