ALQ-162 for F-16s

Northrop Grumman's Electronic Sensors and System Sector has been awarded a $29 million FMS contract from the U.S. Navy to provide AN/ALQ-162 self-protection jammers for the Danish and Norwegian air forces. The Enhanced ALQ-162 pods will be fitted to Danish and Norwegian F-16MLUs. The system is designed to defeat airborne and ground-based pulse Doppler and continuous-wave radars. The improved jammer incorporates microwave power module technology which more than doubles available output power.
