NATO Hawks Will Fly Farther
With New Hamble Fuel Tanks

Hamble Structures, a Dowty Group business and a member of the TI Group plc, has been awarded a contract by Bombardier to manufacture centerline fuel tanks for the Hawk Mk 115 aircraft on order for the NATO Flying Training College in Canada. The new tank, which has been designed by Bombardier Aerospace Defence Services, will provide longer flight duration and better mission flexibility. Hamble Structures, which has long experience in external fuel tank design and manufacture, also supplies the canopy, windscreen and structural components for the Hawk. Under the contract Hamble will produce 18 tanks, plus a pressure test unit. The first tank was air tested earlier in July.
