BBJ Dispatch Reliability 99.99%, Boeing Says

The 11 Boeing Business Jets in service so far have suffered only one airplane-caused departure delay in 2,000 flight hours, giving them an astounding dispatch reliability of 99.99%, Boeing Business Jet president Borge Boeskov told Show News.

Being designed as rugged airliners to rack up 3,000 to 4,000 cycles a year, the average 500 hours a year use of a BBJ isn't likely to stress the aircraft at all. So little, in fact, that maintenance checks need be carried out only every three years.

With a schedule like that, there's absolutely no reason the airplane isn't available to its owner every day of the year -- a claim that few bizjet manufacturers can make.
