326JET Seeks Military Roles

Having seen the 328JET successfully into regional airline service in the past few months, Fairchild Dornier is now stressing possible military applications of the design and its forthcoming larger derivatives.

The company, now in full production at Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany, says the 328JET's large and 8,000 lbs payload makes the aircraft flexible enough for troop and VIP transport, search and rescue, airborne early warning, medical evacuation, and multi-mission surveillance.
The 44-seat 428JET derivative now being developed with Israel Aircraft Industries will share the same features. Fairchild Dornier says its projected 70- and 90-seat 728/928JET family will be strong contenders for future military programs, too.
