Lydia F. Janow, CMP is Director, Events, for Aviation Week, a division of The McGraw-Hill Companies. She has been with the company for over 20 years, responsible for all wholly-owned events. From 1991 – 1995, she was responsible for managing the presence of Aviation Week at domestic and international tradeshows (30-40 annually) and coordinated 2 conferences. From 1995 to the present, she has grown the event department to a global operation with attendees ranging from 20 to over 8,000 worldwide.
Ms. Janow has been a meeting planner for over 30 years, experienced in all phases of meeting planning including corporate, association, hotel and for-profit organizations. From 1989-1991 she was Convention Services Manager at a Sheraton Hotel. From 1986-1988 she was Manager of Meetings and Events at Magazine Publishers Association. She started her career as an Administrative Assistant in 1978 and subsequently promoted to Special Events Manager for a national syndicated publication, Family Weekly. She has planned all facets of special events, seminars, incentive programs, sales meetings, conferences & exhibitions and tradeshows.
Ms. Janow holds a BA in Liberal Arts from the City College of New York, 1978 and graduated Cum Laude and Dean's List. She is Listed in Marquis Who's Who of American Women, 1993 edition; Listed in Marquis Who’s Who in Finance, 2006 edition; Listed in Marquis Who's Who in the East, 25th Silver Edition; Listed in International Biographical Centre World Who's Who of Women, 11th edition; Profiled in Convention South magazine, “Meeting Professionals to Watch in 2005”. She is happily married to Gerard Caramico, a Project Manager for Motorola Solutions.
