8:00 a.m.-8:45 a.m. House Address
Congress has reacted in strong support of the USAF's vital mission, responding to equipment shortfalls ranging from C17s to C-130Js. Congress has also been an outspoken proponent of accelerating the recapitalization of increasingly frail USAF fleets, ranging from TACAIR, to support for "doubling" of the annual Tanker production. This will be the first opportunity of the new Congress to react to the new administration's positions on key production termination or extension decisions, including both the F-22 and the C-17.

11:00 a.m.-11:45 a.m. It is a fact of life that several of USAF's Programs are highly-visible because of both their size & the unique nature of the threats that they must defeat. This will be a unique opportunity to discuss how several of these key Programs are performing, incorporating "lessons learned" from one to another, and what can be done to achieve USAF's unique Air Dominance & Global Strike Missions at the most-affordable cost.
  • LTG Mark D. Shackelford, Military Deputy, Assistant Secretary for Acquisition/Air Force Acquisition Executive
11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
  • MG Jay Lindell, Director Global Power Programs (F-22 & F-35 CTOL) & Capt. Wade Knudson, Program Manager for F-35 Development
12:30 p.m.-2:00 p.m. Emerging Threat, Cyber-Security Panel
What to Y2K, 9/11 and Estonia have in common? They are individual and collective icons of our growing anxiety about cyber vulnerability. They remind us that cyberspace has no national borders - just as cyber security hinges on global collaboration. A distinguished panel of experts address: the pervasiveness of cyber attack; its potential impact on global business models, infrastructure and intelligence community special operations; how defense technology and network-centric operations could buy time for threat detection; and the overarching imperative to find and fund cyber security solutions that extend beyond borders.
