| 3:30 | Deploying ADS-B from the Ground Up In August 2007, ITT was awarded a $207 million initial contract by the FAA to lead a team to develop and deploy the first phase of the ADS-B ground infrastructure. When fully deployed throughout the United States in 2013, the ADS-B ground infrastructure system will enable very accurate aircraft position data to be presented to air traffic controllers and will provide dramatically enhanced aircraft situational awareness. This program will allow an increasing number of aircraft to maintain safe separation, conduct more precise airport approaches and departures, and execute operations key to accommodating increased levels of civil air traffic.

| 11:45 | ADS-B and NextGen from the Controller's Point of View The future plans for NextGen and the scheduled implementation of ADS-B not only create a daunting task for engineers, it will create new challenges for Air Traffic Controllers. Changes in visual displays, possible different separation standards based on equipage and the ability to maintain situational awareness with increased traffic while in a "monitoring" mode rather that "controlling" mode are but a few of the issues. These technical and human factors issues will need to be addressed and solved in order for a successful implementation of these new technologies.
