Privacy Notice
AVIATION WEEK Privacy Notice - revised June 21, 2006
AVIATION WEEK respects your privacy and follows The McGraw-Hill Companies' privacy policy, which may be reviewed at http://www.mcgraw-hill.com/privacy.html. This applies to all of our products and services, including our Web site.
When you fill out a Web form on one of our Web sites, or send us an email message, you are providing information about yourself, which may include your e-mail address, street address, telephone number and credit card number. We will use this information you provide to fulfill your request or respond to your inquiry. From time to time, we share contact data (such as name and address) about customers and prospects collected within The McGraw-Hill Companies, and with other organizations whose products or services we feel may be of interest to you. Credit card information is used only to fulfill a sale, and is not shared with anyone. At every point where we collect personal information about you, we offer you the opportunity to "opt out" of letting us share information about you.
AVIATION WEEK also tracks forwarding of products that are delivered by email to subscribers for the purpose of identifying users who are forwarding products illegally. We are able to track the username to whom the forwarded email was originally sent, and the domain name or IP address of the recipient of the forwarded email. AVIATION WEEK reserves the right to use such username or other address information as is necessary to enforce our rights in the event we believe illegal redistribution of our products has occurred. In the course of delivering Web pages and advertisements to you, AVIATION WEEK does NOT collect any personally identifiable information about you such as your name, phone number or email address, except as noted above for the purpose of tracking the forwarding of products that are delivered to subscribers by email. AVIATION WEEK does, however, collect such non-personally-identifiable information as the address of the server your computer is logged on to, your browser type, and whether you clicked on a menu item or advertisement. Such information is used in aggregated form for the purpose of measuring traffic or advertising response, and gaining a general understanding of the types of individuals using our Web sites.
Some of our Web pages use cookies to prevent users from seeing the same ads repeatedly, and to allow registered users to enter areas requiring registration without having to provide their username and password on each occasion. A cookie is a text-only string of information that a Web site transfers to the cookie file of the browser on your computer's hard disk so that the Web site can remember who you are and your preferences. Such information is also used in aggregated form for the purpose of measuring traffic or advertising response, and gaining a general understanding of the types of individuals using our Web sites.
In order to change these cookie preferences, you must change your browser's preferences to disable cookies or delete cookies. Please note that disabling cookies for some services may affect the ability to use that service. Security information is specific to each browser and operating system. Please check with your browser's specific company for more information. Some examples of how to change your browser's preferences to not accept cookies are as follows: In Internet Explorer (versions 6 and up), this option is listed under Tools > Internet Options > Privacy. The setting has to be set to Block All Cookies; In Netscape (versions 7 and up), this option is listed under Edit > Preferences > Privacy & Security > Cookies. The Disable Cookies button should be checked.
All information entered on this Web site is stored in a secure database in the U.S. and access is limited to authorized persons.
