GAMECO Grows Technical Services in China

Feb 2, 2010

Guangzhou Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering Co. (GAMECO) is expanding its footprint within China by introducing engineering and technical services to Shanghai’s Pudong International Airport. Its maintenance staff there just completed the first two Boeing 777F A checks for China Southern Airlines, which is the launch customer for GAMECO’s line maintenance services at the airport.

China Southern bases its Boeing 777F cargo fleet at Pudong.

GAMECO, which says it’s the first MRO in Asia to provide maintenance services for the 777F, sees air cargo support as a good growth opportunity.

This is evidenced by its Feb. 3 announcement of a renewable one-year agreement to provide fleet technical maintenance services for Shun Feng Express’ expanding fleet of Boeing 757-200F aircraft. GAMECO will provide technical services such as maintenance program development, airworthiness direct and service bulletin review, and reliability management.

GAMECO, a joint venture between China Southern and Hutchison Whampoa Aircraft Investment Co., is based at the Baiyun International Airport in Guangzhou, China. It provides line maintenance services from Baiyun International to about 200 daily domestic and international flights.
