NetJets Success Spurs Lufthansa Private Jet Expansion Plans

May 24, 2007

Buoyed by a 13% growth in business during 2006, Lufthansa Private Jet is extending its agreement with NetJets for another five years.

Last year up to 10 Private Jet flights, each provided by NetJets, were booked by customers every day, says Lufthansa. The highest demand (about 60% of the total) was for point-to-point flights among 1,000 destinations in Europe and the Russian Federation. The Private Jet service also connects customers of Lufthansa or SWISS long-haul flights with a network of onward regional services. The number of Private Jet flights offered in combination with long-haul services through the Frankfurt, Munich and Zurich hubs has increased significantly since mid-2006, Lufthansa says.

Thierry Antinori, evp-marketing and sales at Lufthansa passenger airlines, said customers especially appreciate Lufthansa first-class amenities on the Private Jet service.

Under the renewed agreement with NetJets, more aircraft will be on call daily to accommodate increased demand for service. The Falcon 2000, which seats up to 10 passengers, is being added to the daily fleet roster.

Since April 1, Lufthansa Private Jet customers can book a limousine transfer to and from the airport at no extra charge. On request, passengers will be picked up at home and driven direct to their Private Jet flight at the airport. Upon their landing, the limousine will again be waiting alongside the airplane to whisk passengers without delay to their destinations. Lufthansa's exclusive partner is the SIXT Limousine Service. The Mercedes E and S-Class limousines will be driven by specially trained chauffeurs.

The Lufthansa Private Jet service is offered at a fixed price, depending on the flight route and including all charges and costs. The itinerary is coordinated by an event manager, and a personal service team is available for customers round-the-clock. Inflight catering and entertainment are tailored to individual requirements, and passengers have full use of first-class services laid on at the airport by Lufthansa, SWISS or Lufthansa partners.
