2007 Sales $2.1 billion
Rank 9th (LCC & Regional Carriers)
Canada's WestJet is a carrier that has improved dramatically since 2004, and appears to be on the right track to continue that trend. Its total TPC score has grown by an average of 183% over the past three years, with net profit nearly doubling to C$193 million ($188 million) in 2007. Profits continue to rise in the first half of this year, thanks partly to a route reshuffle that increases the focus on leisure destinations. A planned international code-share deal with U.S. giant Southwest will no doubt boost WestJet further when it begins next year.
