Deutsche Lufthansa AG

Aug 8, 2008

2007 Sales $33.9 billion

Rank 5th (Mainline Legacy Carriers)

Lufthansa has been notable for its consistency in the TPC studies, ranked between fourth and eighth since 2004. Liquidity has been a real strengthit has been the top performer in this category three of the last four years. 2007 was a banner year, with its net profit more than doubling to €1.7 billion ($2.6 billion). Operating profits have increased significantly so far this year, and the airline expects to achieve a full-year operating profit about the same as last year's €1.4 billion ($2.2 billion). The carrier's outlook is clouded somewhat by labor headaches regarding its pilots and other employee groups.
