AIRLIANCE'S GREEN UPGRADE IN CHICAGO

WHITE LIGHT

Before occupying its current location near Chicago O’Hare, AirLiance upgraded the lighting in its primary warehouse workspaces in 2006 from high-pressure sodium to metal halide light fixtures. This provided a whiter light. (All photos by Roscoe Musselwhite) + See full article

FLUORESCENT FIXTURES

The T-8 Open Ultra High Bay fluorescent fixtures arrive at AirLiance’s headquarters. + See full article

IDEAL LIGHTING

Orion Energy Systems installed the fluorescent fixtures 25-30 ft. apart. Six-ft. cords allow the lights to be situated ideally, for present and future configurations, opposed to the original pendant fixtures that were fixed based on the electrical supply location. + See full article

ENERGY SAVER

AirLiance selected six-bulb fixtures to illuminate the warehouse where small parts reside and four-bulb fixtures near racks filled with bigger parts. The warehouse lights feature motion control, which helps save energy. + See full article

The Big Ass Fan brings down hot air from the ceiling in the winter and distributes the warmth over a bigger area than the ceiling-mounted heathers could reach. + See full article
