A330 Engine Bolt Inspection
Today EASA released AD 2009-0240 for various Airbus A330 aircraft fitted with Pratt & Whitney engines that requires a one-time visual inspection of the forward and aft engine mount pylon bolts. There are eight bolts per engine.

During a fluorescent penetrant inspection, an operator found a problem with a bolt, which was traced to a quality manufacturing process issue, according to EASA.

As you may guess, any problematic bolts need to be replaced.

This AD's effective date is Nov. 19--two weeks from today.
